More about the Red Cross training on April 7th

We received a question about the upcoming training sessions and whether the content is the same/similar; to clarify, we are going to post some additional information about each.

Following is some additional information about the first session of our Training & Education series on Thursday, April 7th. This event includes both presentations and free training by the King County Red Cross!

  • Deb Ticknor, Red Cross Readiness Manager, will explain how the Red Cross responds to local disasters.
  • David Shannon, Disaster Education Program Manager, has an interactive disaster preparedness presentation for individuals and families.
  • Lastly, we’ll have CPR and First Aid demonstrations and training that will help you prepare for a disaster.

The First Aid and CPR portion of the session is an abbreviated version of the standard Red Cross training – it does involve learning and  practicing first aid techniques – but attendees won’t get certified at this session as they would if they attended a longer class.

We hope you will join us! It’s on April 7th 2011, 6 – 7:30 PM, at the Senior Center of West Seattle (on California, at 4217 SW Oregon St.).
