Just a reminder that the SW Precinct Picnic is tomorrow/Saturday, August 20th, from 1 to 4 PM. The SW Precinct is located at 2300 SW Webster Street (at Delridge Way SW, just SE of the Home Depot store).
Here’s more info from the picnic organizers:
Precinct picnics are an opportunity for precinct neighbors to enjoy free food, music, entertainment, as well as an opportunity to meet their local police officers, learn about their local precincts, learn about many of the Department’s specialty units, and receive information about crime prevention and community services available in their area. Picnics are an opportunity for community members to have non-enforcement
interactions with police, and to learn about how to get involved in preventing crime in their neighborhoods.
Last year’s picnic was a lot of fun; highlights for kids included seeing the horses from the mounted patrol and remote-controlled robots.
Stop by our booth to learn more about our group and our upcoming activities; we’ll have an assortment of informational materials as well, including updated emergency communication hub maps.
Hope to see you!
Update 8/21/11: Thanks to those of you who stopped by yesterday & talked with us! It was a fun event. You’ll find photo coverage here from the West Seattle Blog.
