A few fall preparedness-related events for your calendar:

Learn how to get prepared! High Point Neighborhood Night is this evening (Friday, October 4th), 6:30 – 8 PM, at Neighborhood House, 6400 Sylvan Way SW, Seattle, 98126. The evening’s event will include two short sessions:  one focused on family level preparedness and one focused on community level preparedness (including an overview of the West Seattle Emergency Communication Hubs).  

Fauntleroy Fall Festival:  October 14th, 2 PM, at Fauntleroy Church. We’ll have a representative there with more information about the West Seattle Emergency Communication Hubs! Stop by to pick up materials or ask questions.

Earthquake Pet Shelter exercise: Are you a pet owner? Here is an opportunity to participate with your pet in a full-scale earthquake shelter disaster exercise. It will be held at Yesler Community Center on October 16th from 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM, but you’ll need to RSVP in order to participate. Details in this Pet Shelter Exercise flyer.

Emergency Preparedness Workshop Event, Saturday, October 20th, 10 – 2 PM, Arbor Heights Elementary School (3701 S.W. 104th St). We’ll be participating, along with other community groups. This event is funded by an Emergency and Disaster Preparedness grant from the Department of Neighborhoods. Everyone is welcome!

Urban Resiliency Workshop: Saturday, October 20th, Northgate Library, 1 – 3 PM. Members of West Seattle Be Prepared will be participating in this presentation about the Emergency Communication Hubs…more details to come

“Responding to the Disaster”: Emergency Preparedness Summit on Saturday, 11/3 at Alki Community Center; more details to come.
