Are you, and those who depend on you, ready for a disaster?

October is Disaster Preparedness Month in Washington state. As colder weather approaches, it’s more important than usual to be ready for the unexpected…such as a sustained power outage or severe damage to roads and buildings caused by an earthquake.

If you can use some guidance in getting prepared, keep an eye on our website calendar for classes and other events such as the upcoming Hub Summit on October 19th.

The West Seattle Blog is running another series about emergency preparedness this month. You’ll find some great suggestions in the postings and the comments. Join in the discussion if you have questions or additional ideas to share!

Are you on Facebook? If so, be sure to join our West Seattle Be Prepared group. We have over 450 members!
