Since October is Emergency Preparedness month in Washington State, it’s shaping up to be a busy month. Both of the following events are outside of West Seattle, but not too far.
- The Seattle Office of Emergency Management is hosting a follow-up discussion to their Faith-based Forums that were held last April. This event will be on Tuesday, October 22nd, from noon until 3 PM. You’ll find more details in this attached Fall Faith-based Forum 2013 flyer.
- The Seattle Science Lecture Series is featuring a presentation by Susan Kieffer on the “Dynamics of a Disaster” on Friday, October 25th, from 7:30 until 9 PM at Town Hall (downstairs). Cost is $5; you’ll find more info here.
As noted previously, the West Seattle Blog is running a “Getting Prepared” series this month; you’ll find the entire series here. This evening’s posting (Day 7) has a rather entertaining video that illustrates what NOT to include in a Go Kit.
If you know of other preparedness events or activities, please let us know!
